Note:  All of the pictures have been shrinked down to fit the page size.  To see the BIGGER version of the same picture, simply download the picture and open up with your graphics editor.  Most of these pictures are actually somewhere in the range of 1024x768 (I cropped the pictures and also changed the lighting in some cases).

This page needs to be viewed at 1024x768 resolution or higher.   If you don't have a 17" monitor, I feel bad for you...

Mvc-606x.jpg (182725 bytes)After getting out the glass dome itself, there's actually a exhibit (with air conditioning!!!  YES!!! We were all happy again!!!) of all the butterflies.  They were absolutely gorgeous!   All the various colors!

Needless to say, Nancy was in HEAVEN.  She was taking pictures left and right.  She really enjoyed herself, I think.

bttrfly.gif (7313 bytes)Oh, look!  A butterfly flown unto Nancy's hand and then unto mine!  Yea, right.  It is actually a dead butterfly and we just used it for posing purposes.  The butterfly's feathers were really silky.

bttrfly.gif (7313 bytes)I wanted a butterfly to take home (no, not the live ones.)  And since the introduction video that we saw about the museum states that there are 200 butterflies dead each week, I thought it would be pretty cheap to obtain one.  Boy, was I WRONG!!!  The one that caught my eye is that blue one.   It would have gone in my living room PERFECTLY.  It is $500.00!!!  Can't afford to spend THAT much!!!
